Adamas is the main port of Milos and among the safest shelters of the Aegean Sea.

The village was established around 1835 by refugees from Sfakia, Crete. It is built in traditional architecture with white houses, paved streets and lovely churches.
Along the seaside street of Adamas, there are shops, bars, fish taverns and cafeterias with a great view of the sea.
Adamas is a great base for excursions around Milos as it is close to a number of picturesque villages, including Klima, Plaka and Mandrakia.
Buses depart from Adamas to various spots around Milos, as well as boats that make daily excursions around the island, to pristine locations that are only accessible by boat.
Among the sights to see in Adamas are the Mineralogical Museum, Maritime Musem, the Ecclesiastical Museum inside the Church of Holy Trinity and the Refuge of WWII which every summer is organized cultural exhibitions.
